About the Organization

The Organization
Started in the 2021-22 school year by Lime Kiln Middle School alumni Dora Zhou, the organization began as a weekly after-school program at LKMS where students would gather to learn competition math in preparation for the MATHCOUNTS competition. Since then, under the guidance of the G/T resource teacher, Mrs. Tracy Spillman, we have continued to be a high school student led effort with program alumni coming back to teach after graduation from LKMS. During the 2025-26 school year, the organization was legally recognized as a nonprofit corporation and has pending 501(c)(3) certification, as a result of the work done by Leon Du and Jayden Tom. In the 2026-27 school year, after 5 years of work, we hope to expand to several other schools to spread a love for mathematics over an even greater area with 3 schools, Ellicott Mills Middle School, Folly Quarter Middle School, and Glenwood Middle School, already confirming partnership with this program.
